Water act : raise the trasparent membrane 2017
I think that the art world is divided into two parts " the outside world and the inside working world" by the center of the invisible baseline. The former contains the landscape of every day life surrounding me, the latter is regarded as having more different atmosphere than the former as if it is existing in a remote place located in the opposite areas of the earth. I have been doing this kind of the inside working world to distinguish it from the outside world in the art world.
I have made it possible for visitors to look through the exhibitions along the left side of the wall bottom face of the exhibition hall displaying the parts of two sorts of works from their initial installation stages to recent stages. They are in order of HM space in 2017, the device that helps the rambutans become the sea urchins in 2016, and the worktable 51-202-2015, LA Machine in 2013. And we have felt a common attitude that these parts are existing in each different place because they are the works unraveled at respectively different times and stories.
I hope the work that is almost in contact with the artificial wall will have a position in the new space created from the transparent membrane through " WATER ACT " which means the act of creating a waterway around the work as some water is put on the pebbles. The water path drawn on the floor remains as a trace of the moment through the water mark, but it soon disappears and then remains transparent during the " WATER ACT ‘’ .
I felt the sound produced from this kind of actions resembled it of runnig water. And this sound seemed to be more clear in the space of the new location by putting color into the transparent air circles around the work.
